The three design stages
Conceptual design
Define the idea
Defines the facility requirements, site feasibility, process flows, GMP zoning, cleanroom classification and preliminary layouts, providing a clear basis for project scope and cost.
Deliverables
- User requirement specification (URS)
- Conceptual block layouts
- GMP zoning & cleanroom classification
- Room and personnel/material flow concept
- Site master plan
- Order-of-magnitude cost estimate
Basic design
Fix the solution
Establishes the engineering solution across all disciplines, including dimensioned layouts, process flows and P&IDs, HVAC and utility sizing, and confirmed area classifications — delivering a coordinated package ready for budgeting and tender.
Deliverables
- Dimensioned general-arrangement layouts
- Process flow diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Utility load lists & sizing
- Confirmed area classification
- Equipment list & room data sheets
- Basis of design document
Detailed engineering
Build the package
Transforms the approved design into a complete, construction-ready package, with detailed multidisciplinary engineering and coordinated drawings suitable for installation and inspection.
Deliverables
- Construction-issue architectural drawings
- AHU-wise HVAC & ducting layouts
- WFI, PW, pure steam & compressed gas distribution and piping route layouts
- Lighting, power & earthing system drawings
- Electrical distribution, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, LAN & telephone systems
- BOQ & technical specifications
- UPS, BMS & EMS system design
- Technical submittals — HVAC, utilities & electrical
Let’s build it right.
From the first concept sketch to a qualified, inspection-ready plant, Agon partners with pharmaceutical manufacturers to engineer facilities that meet the highest international standards. We would welcome the conversation.
